云南广播电视台国际频道于2013年8月30开播，是云南省首个主要面对南亚、东南亚进行对外宣传的公益性频道。云南国际频道以“云南美、中国窗、世界情”为定位，全天24小时采用汉语和英语两种语言滚动播出。内容涵盖新闻、纪录片、电视剧及生活服务类节目和娱乐节目。在开播初期，国际频道将针对老挝、缅甸、柬埔寨、泰国等节目传输覆盖的重点推向国打造多语种、多字幕的播出平台。目前，云南国际频道的传送信号通过长城平台覆盖美国、加拿大、澳大利亚以及东南亚、南亚国家。
