La Universidad Regional Autóma de los Andes UNIANDES, luego de poner en el aire Uniandes Radio, ahora está empeñada en convertirse en una ventana de las actividades que se realizan en las diferentes Facultades y Carreras que mantiene esta institución de educación superior en su matríz de Ambato y sus 7 extensiones. El trabajo de vìnculaciòn con la sociedad es un punto importante que también está previsto transmitir a través de la imagen de la televisión de Uniandes. El propósito de nuestro canal es el de hacer conocer a toda la comunidad uniandina de Ecuador y a todo el público nuestro y del mundo, el trabajo incansable de la preparación de nuevos profesionales con bases sòlidas para aportar al desarrollo del Paìs.
Los medios de comunicación Uniandes Radio (www.uniandesradio.com) y Uniandes TV ( www.uniandestv.com) fue un sueño que siempre tuvo el fundador de nuestra universidad, el eterno Canciller, (+)Dr. Gustavo Alvarez Gavilanes PhD y que hoy gracias a nuestras autoridades, Dra. Corona Gòmez PhD, RECTORA DE UNIANDES, y el Dr. Gustavo Alvarez Gòmez VICERRECTOR GENERAL, se ha plasmado en una hermosa realidad que nos permitirá una comunicación màs efectiva y directa con nuestra sociedad.
