TRT World is a 24-hour international English-language news channel based in Istanbul, Turkey. It provides news and current affairs on television and online (including on mobile).
It is aimed at a worldwide audience and is broadcast via satellite, cable operators and across digital platforms[1]. In addition to its Istanbul headquarters, TRT World has broadcast centres in Washington D.C., London, and Singapore. TRT World is part of Turkey's public broadcaster, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, and is a member of the Association for International Broadcasting.
TRT World is a public funded broadcaster run based in Turkey. TRT World aims to provide new perspectives on world events to a global audiences. While a few western critics have argued that it is a propaganda channel because the channel is located in a non-western country.[2] TRT World has maintained that the quality of it’s journalism speaks for itself and is accountable to the people of Turkey, and not the government and has encouraged viewers to watch the channel and decide for themselves.
TRT World is funded by the public, similar to the BBC and other European public broadcasters.
